Dental Technology
Technology helps our dentists deliver more comfortable and quick dental care to you and your family. We use a variety of dental tools in our clinic, including dental lasers, a CBCT scanner, intraoral scanner, and iTero scanner.
CBCT Scanner
CBCT scanners are used for a variety of reasons in dentistry, including to diagnose issues in the gums, teeth, and mouth, and to plan treatments or restorations, such as dental implants. A CBCT scanner takes detailed images of your teeth, bones, nerves, and soft tissue, and then combines these images into 3D images.
Intraoral Scanner
In dentistry, “impressions” are 3D recreations of your mouth that allow us to plan treatments and restorations. Our dental team uses intraoral scanners to take images of your mouth and piece them together. This creates a “digital” impression of your mouth and teeth that we can use to create restorations, such as dental crowns or bridges.
iTero Scanner
The iTero scanner helps with diagnosis and planning in orthodontic treatments and restorative dentistry. It’s most commonly used to scan the teeth so your dentist or orthodontist can plan out Invisalign treatments (a type of orthodontic treatment similar to braces that uses clear aligner trays). The iTero scanner can also be used to create crowns, dentures, and dental implants.
Dental Lasers
Dental lasers are used for a variety of tasks in dentistry, including to cut hard and soft tissues. Dental lasers are very precise, and because of this, they often reduce bleeding and swelling, making treatments more comfortable. Our dentists can use dental lasers for many procedures we perform regularly in our dental clinic.
